Union Station and transfer onto the Red/Purple Lines and the new Expo Line to the Santa Monica beaches starting May 20, 2016.

  • I take the train from Simi Valley to San Clemente , it's a cheap way to go to the beach. The station is right on the beach too!

  • One comment though, you add says the train stops at San Clemente Pier, only the Amtrak Stops at the pier. Metrolink stops at its own station north of there...UN less you are also stopping at the pier also!

  • Ticket purchase should be available on line. Among other reasons, it is crazy to have to deal with the confusing machine when you have a connection to make. I would like to use Metrolink from San Diego to Claremont but it is almost impossible to make a good connection from the Coaster to the Orange line. There were only a 6 minutes to buy a ticket and run to the Orange line.

  • For $10/ticket, it's a bargain to get to the beach from the IE. Can another train be added in either direction to increase the convenience of the scheduling? Maybe something aligned with the SD Coaster at Oceanside?

  • No better way to attend the OC Fair than to take Metrolink to the Santa Ana station and board the free OCTA shuttle for a short ride to the fair along with a discount for entry. I have taken advantage of this for the past three years.

  • Today is my family's first experience on the beach train San Bernardino to San Clemente. So far we are disappointed. The 7:30AM train was canceled and the 9:00AM was late by 20 mins. There is double the crowd since first train was late. The mood is really grumpy. This is 4th July weekend so why would a train get cancelled? Hopefully we can fun when we finally get to the beach.

  • I am new to train traveling and what I would like to see is some easy directive of where to pick up the metrolink from Redlands? I'd like to either go to San clemente, or San Diego area.. depends what mood... what are the times, where do I get on, is it close to the beach as (trouble walking too far), can bring on train beach accessories like a chair at least, small umbrella, what are the carry on rules et,.. how early and how late can we enjoy the beach before we miss a train to? Is it scary w kids... like do you have to exit so quickly you'd lose a kid? ( I'm picturing a Very busy subway lol) just want to be able to do something like this on a spur of moment and not be nervous. Thanks for your time.
