Get ready for holiday magic aboard Metrolink's 2023 Holiday Express Train experience! This year, we're doubling the joy with 8 trains running Saturdays through December 16. Our Perris Valley event was a huge success so act fast! There are only 6 trains remaining.

Experience a festive wonderland on every train with decorations, entertainment from holiday carolers, Santa and Mrs. Claus, song leader elves, and character performers.

Join the pre-event excitement at the origin station for smooth check-in, kids craft tables, musical entertainment and a charity drive.

FAQs

The Metrolink Holiday Express Train is an on-train experience for the whole family. There will be eight festively decorated train passenger cars with carolers, a visit from Santa and his elves, and other holiday characters. It’s going to be a unique holiday experience with children’s activities and treats.

Arrive early as parking can get crowded. Trains will leave on-time!

Train #1 will leave at 9:20 a.m.
Train #2 will leave at 12:50 p.m.

Important: Arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of your train ride to check in.

The Metrolink Holiday Express Train experience will last 60-75 minutes. Riders will take a scenic non-stop ride as follows:

Weekend 1:
Saturday, November 25: Metrolink Holiday Express Train #1 will depart Perris-South Station at 10:00 am, ride along the rolling hills of Perris Valley and return at 11:10 am. Train #2 will depart at 1:00 pm and return at 2:10 pm.

Weekend 2:
Saturday, December 2: Metrolink Holiday Express Train #1 will depart Rancho Cucamonga station at 12:30 pm, ride along the San Gabriel Mountains, and return at 1:30 pm, a 60-minute ride. Train #2 will depart at 3:30 pm and return at 4:30 pm.

Weekend 3:
Saturday, December 9:
Metrolink Holiday Express VC Line train will depart Simi Valley station at 1:15 pm, ride along the beautiful Simi Hills, and return at 2:30 pm.

Metrolink Holiday Express AV Line train will depart Burbank-Downtown station at 4:20 pm, ride along San Fernando Valley and return at 5:35 pm.

Weekend 4:
Saturday, December 16: Metrolink Holiday Express Train #1 will depart Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station at 9:20 am, ride along the coastline and return at 11:00 am. Train #2 will depart the station at 12:50 pm and return 2:30 pm.

No, the Student Adventure Pass and any other regular discounts are not valid for Holiday Express Train tickets.

To purchase tickets for your desired Metrolink Holiday Express train, simply click your preferred destination and time above. Please note, the Metrolink Holiday Express train tickets are not available for purchase on the day of nor are they available through the mobile app or on the ticket machines.

Yes, when you purchase your tickets online in advance, seating will be reserved.

The Holiday Express Trains are expected to sell out. Purchase your tickets as soon as possible.

Yes. Children two years of age and under may ride for free provided they are not occupying a seat and ride on an adult’s lap.

Refunds will NOT be issued for this event. When purchasing tickets, please purchase the correct date, time and train car you wish to ride on. This event sells out quickly and Metrolink cannot exchange or refund tickets.

Trains will continue to run in various weather conditions. However, trains may be canceled or postponed at the railroad’s discretion due to major weather or railroad disruptions. Full refunds will be offered in these scenarios.

Yes, Metrolink trains have restrooms available in each passenger car.

Service animals trained to assist persons with disabilities are permitted. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted on this special train.

Yes, small snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted on the trains.

Strollers will not be permitted on the train, but stroller parking will be available at each event.
