FLORENCE AVENUE INTERCHANGE PROJECT The week of April 9 crews will be performing CIDH (cast in drilled hole) work at night in the center median of I-5 at the Florence Ave. bridge. This work will be conducted Sunday, April 9 and nightly Tuesday, April 11 through Thursday, April 13, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. This work may be disruptive due to equipment noise. Florence Avenue Nighttime Bridge Work on I-5 Nighttime bridge construction activities will continue next week, including removal of bridge abutments, bent footings and moving k-rail.Northbound I-5 will be closed between I-605 and Norwalk Boulevard, nightly, Sunday, April 9 through Thursday, April 13. Southbound I-5 and the I-605 connectors to southbound I-5 will be closed Monday night, April 10. Florence Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Studebaker Rd. and Orr and Day Rd. from 9:30 p.m. Monday, April 10 to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11.
Please be advised, this work may be loud and disruptive due to concrete demolition and removal, equipment noise and truck back-up alarms. - Northbound I-5 will be closed nightly from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, April 9 through Thursday, April 13

Florence Avenue Bridge Nighttime Lane Closures at I-5 Florence Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Studebaker Rd. and Orr and Day Rd. from 9:30 p.m. Monday, April 10 to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, as crews complete demolition work on the bridge.
Please note, while construction is underway, Florence Avenue may be closed to traffic between Studebaker Road and Orr and Day Road, intermittently between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Heavy traffic and delays are expected in the area surrounding Florence Avenue at I-5; motorists are urged to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Florence Avenue Bridge Lane Reduction at I-5 Florence Avenue bridge at I-5 (between Orr and Day Road and Fairford Avenue) has been reduced to one lane in each direction. The Florence Avenue on-ramp to northbound I-5 has also been close for approximately two years. The Florence Avenue bridge is being reconstructed one half at a time to accommodate the widening of I-5 below the bridge.
The diagram below outlines the first stage of bridge construction (which will take approximately nine to 12 months to complete), including the temporary lane configuration, related ramp closures, and pedestrian access. IMPERIAL HIGHWAY & PIONEER BOULEVARD PROJECT The contractor will be conducting grading work adjacent to northbound I-5 near Imperial Highway for approximately the next two weeks. This work will be conducted Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction will be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
ROSECRANS AVENUE & BLOOMFIELD AVENUE BRIDGE PROJECT Crews have closed N. Firestone Blvd. from Rosecrans Avenue to Bloomfield / Markdale Avenue, for approximately six months. This closure is needed as crews reconstruct N. Firestone Blvd., complete pile driving adjacent to I-5 and complete soundwall construction. The closure area is shown in red on the map below; the detour map is shown in green.
Rosecrans Avenue may be closed to all through traffic (motorists and pedestrians) in both directions underneath I-5, Monday through Fridays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Nighttime closures on Rosecrans Avenue will continue intermittently for the next six months. For detour information visit the project Google Map. All pile driving activity has been completed for the Rosecrans segment of the project. CARMENITA ROAD INTERCHANGE PROJECT Landscape and irrigation work is ongoing along Frontage Road, N. Firestone Boulevard and S. Firestone Boulevard. This work will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. VALLEY VIEW AVENUE INTERCHANGE PROJECT The northbound I-5 on-ramp at Freeway Drive is set to close permanently on Tuesday, April 18. A portable changeable message sign has been placed in the area giving the public two weeks advance notice of the closure. Once this ramp closes, motorists will be detoured to proceed west on Alondra Boulevard, then north on Carmenita Road to access the northbound I-5 on-ramp. The closure area is shown in red on the map below; the detour route is shown in green.
Starting Sunday, April 9 through Thursday, April 13 crews will be placing k-rail in the median island along northbound and southbound I-5. In order to complete this work, there will be partial lane reductions on I-5 and the northbound and southbound I-5 Valley View Avenue on- and off-ramps will be closed nightly between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Heavy traffic and delays in the area are expected. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes whenever possible; alternate route shown on the map below.
Multiple utility relocations are ongoing throughout the construction site. There will be intermittent lane reductions on both N. Firestone Boulevard and S. Firestone Boulevard. Work will be performed Monday through Friday.
A portion of S. Firestone Boulevard at Coyote Creek channel is now closed for utility relocation for a period of four to six months. Work will be conducted weekdays between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Businesses along Firestone Boulevard will remain open and detour signs will be posted. For detour information visit the project Google map.
