Handy Info Instructions

Stay informed with handy Metrolink service updates via text message notifications sent directly to your mobile device. Metrolink offers line-by-line service updates via Twitter:

            Monday – Friday, 4:00am to 11:30pm
            Saturday – Sunday, 6:00am to 11:00pm

Find your train line below and send a text message that reads, “Follow MetrolinkAV” to 40404. Repeat this process to follow additional lines.

You don’t need a Twitter account to receive text messages from Twitter

Is this going to cost me anything?

Twitter is a free service but there may be costs associated with receiving text messages on your mobile device. Check with your cellular service provider for details of your text messaging plan and any charges you may incur before you sign up. No requests for reimbursements will be received on our behalf.

Will I be able to choose the trains I receive updates about?

No. At this time we have established accounts for each line so you can follow updates for each or all of our seven lines.

What if I don't want to get an update at 4:00 a.m.?

If you establish a Twitter account, you can log in, select "Settings" and then "Devices," and you can limit the hours during which you receive updates.

What if I want to stop receiving Metrolink updates altogether?

All you have to do is text "Off Metrolink" to 40404 and our updates will stop.

Twitter is a two-way service. What if I want to send a "tweet" to Metrolink?

Twitter is a two-way service. If you have an account and choose to follow us, you can send us a direct private message (DM) and we can reply. #Metrolink or @Metrolink in your tweet and we will be able to tweet a response to you. You can always send us a comment HERE or by calling (800) 371-5465(LINK).

What if I stop receiving "tweets" or I believe I am not getting all of Metrolink's "tweets"?

Twitter is a free service and has experienced a few, short service disruptions to customers on several cell phone service providers over the past year. You can visit to confirm any problems. In the event of a Twitter service issue, Metrolink will attempt to let our followers know on our website that Twitter is down.
