Metrolink is celebrating Bike Month throughout May with an exciting lineup of activations in collaboration with our bike-loving SoCal Explorer partners Aventon Bikes, LOCALE Magazine, and AllTrails.
Free Rides During Bike to Work Week (May 16 - 20)
We're offering free rides for passengers who bring their bike onboard during Bike to Work Week from Monday, May 16 - Friday, May 20.*

Riders will also have the chance to win a brand new Aventon e-bike as part of our “Cycle SoCal” prize package which includes a new Sinch Aventon E-bike, a monthly Metrolink pass, a night at the luxury boutique hotel, Inn at Mission San Juan Capistrano, and a $200 gift card to the upscale eatery, Trevor's at the Tracks.
We’ve partnered with SoCal based e-bike company, Aventon Bikes, to give away a free bike! Enter to win a brand-new Sinch e-bike and enjoy the summer riding Metrolink’s bike friendly trains to cycling destinations across Southern California while giving a boost to your health and the environment along the way. The winner will be announced on our social media channels and notified via email on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Plus, if you snap a selfie of yourself on one of our trains with your bike and use #MetrolinkBikeMonth2022, you could even have the chance to be featured on our site.
*One free ride per bike. Cyclists must be with their bike for the entire trip. Free rides on Metrolink are not eligible for refunds and are not eligible for free transfers to any other bus or rail operator. Cyclists do require a paid Amtrak Pacific Surfliner ticket with complimentary bicycle reservation for Rail2Rail and Codeshare trains.
Nationally celebrated in May, Bike Month, encourages people to get on their bikes for fun, essential trips, exercise and to help our environment. Whether used for transportation, recreation or as an essential lifestyle choice, cycling is packed with many great benefits for everyone and our planet!
Metrolink supports initiatives like Bike Month to help protect our environment through clean transportation options while contributing to a healthier Southern California.
Taking your bike on board Metrolink is easier than ever. Just place your bicycle in our designated bike area found on ALL our train cars. Each train car can hold up to 3 bikes.
For additional bike storage, look for Metrolink Bike Cars that are identified by a yellow “Bike Car” decal on the side of the train. Our Bike Cars can hold 9 bikes on the lower level.
Beginning May 2, Metrolink will have a month of exciting activities for the community to participate in, like an e-bike giveaway! Metrolink will also offer free rides to those with their bikes during Bike to Work Week, Monday May 16 - Friday May 20, 2022.

No, there is no additional cost to ride with your bike.
- Bikes must be safely secured within the bike storage area
- Bikes must never block aisles or doors
- Bicyclists must follow the conductor’s instructions to relocate or board an alternative car due to overcrowding and/or if space is needed for a passenger in a wheelchair
- Only single-rider bikes are allowed
- Battery-powered scooters and wheelchairs are permitted
- Battery-powered bikes, scooters and wheelchairs are permitted
- Electric bikes are permitted
- Folding bikes are allowed on the train and must be stored in the bike storage area
- Gas-powered vehicles
- Mopeds, motor, tandem and three-wheeled bikes
- Segways (except when used as a mobility device for a passenger with a disability)
- Riding bikes onboard the train or on the station platform
Violating the bike rules may result in removal from the train.
