Track Construction and Maintenance
San Bernardino Line: Covina Station
Starting March 2017, Metrolink is implementing pedestrian safety upgrades adjacent to the Covina Metrolink Station. This project will result in the continuous closure of one lane in each direction on Citrus Ave for approximately 2 ½ months. Later in the project, there will also be a night-time closure on Citrus Ave for up to 5 nights.
Northbound pedestrian access along the east side of Citrus Ave will be maintained at all times. However, when construction impacts the crosswalk at Citrus Ave and the entrance to the Metrolink Station, pedestrians will use the crosswalk at Front St and Citrus Ave.
This project will improve safety by making it more difficult for pedestrians to enter a crossing when a train is approaching.
In order to maintain the safe operations of our trains, track maintenance equipment will run system-wide from November 26, 2018 to December 14, 2018 between the hours of 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. If repairs on our tracks are necessary, we will make the necessary repairs at that time. The repairs could require:
- Noise and lights from heavy equipment
- the cutting of rail
- backup alarms
We apologize for any inconvenience. Questions and concerns may be directed to Metrolink's Community Relations team at (213) 452-0300 or to email@example.com.
