Update Alert: SB I-5 Overnight Lane Closures Near Valley View Ave. 9/17 & 9/18

Updates in bold:
Due to unexpected equipment failure, a third night has been added to the Valley View Avenue Bridge closures and the opening is postponed until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 19.
By 6 a.m. Saturday, September 19, we plan to open:
  • The brand new Valley View Avenue off ramp from southbound I-5, with traffic signal.
  • A second southbound lane on the Valley View Avenue Bridge heading into Cerritos.
  • The new pedestrian sidewalk and safety fence on the first half of the bridge.
Preparations for these milestones will require the overnight closure of the Valley View Avenue Bridge for two nights, as follows:

Thursday, September 17:
Southbound I-5 right lane closed from Alondra Boulevard to Valley View Avenue from 8 p.m. to
6 a.m. Two right lanes closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Striping).

Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18:
Valley View Ave. Bridge closed in both directions from N. Firestone Boulevard to Arbor Place
from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Traffic will be able to turn in both directions between N. Firestone Boulevard and Valley View Avenue / Alondra Boulevard on the north end of the bridge. Traffic will be able to turn in both directions between Arbor Place and Valley View Avenue on the south end of the bridge. Accessible via Artesia Boulevard.
