Today, Metrolink announced the addition of new, state-of-the-art antimicrobial air filters on all its train cars to ensure the air passengers breathe throughout their journey is safe and clean.

Metrolink’s $10 Holiday Ticket returns on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day to help travelers get to their essential destinations. Metrolink’s $10 Holiday Ticket is valid for unlimited rides on Christmas Day, Friday, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Friday, Jan. 1. This discounted fare is available for a contactless purchase experience through Metrolink’s mobile app or at a Metrolink station ticket machine.

The Southern California Regional Rail Authority Board of Directors, the governing body of regional passenger rail service Metrolink, unanimously elected Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) representative and City of Glendale Councilmember Ara Najarian as its next chair during its December 11 regular meeting. Director Najarian replaces the outgoing chair Brian Humphrey, who represents the Ventura County Transportation Commission, effective January 1, 2021.

Metrolink is updating its temporary schedule effective Monday, November 16, to better serve existing riders and welcome other riders back. The schedule update includes the reintroduction of San Bernardino Line Express service and temporarily suspending trains with lower ridership, while adding back trains that better serve riders’ needs.

Metrolink, Southern California’s regional train service, today introduced EXPLORE – a new digital content hub featuring destinations familiar and new Southern Californians can get out and discover after spending the last seven months staying safer at home. And those who sign up for the SoCal Explorer Rewards program introduced last week will earn points for every mile they travel on Metrolink, which they can redeem for free tickets towards their next trip.

The program makes it more affordable for people to make taking the train a part of their everyday lifestyle.

To help advance a healthier Southern California in recognition of Clean Air Day on October 7, Metrolink is encouraging residents to sign the Clean Air Pledge and #TakeTheTrain. Metrolink also revealed a Personal Impact Calculator at metrolinktrains.com/experience so people can see the difference they make to the environment when they leave their car behind and take the train instead. As an added incentive, new riders who download the Metrolink Mobile App and register their new account will be rewarded with a free ticket in the mobile app wallet, which they can use anytime through March 31, 2021.

Metrolink, Southern California’s passenger train service, today launched Metrolink Experience, a new digital content hub where Southern Californians can take a virtual ride on Metrolink. Rider experiences captured using 360° video and featuring routes across multiple Metrolink routes illustrate the diversity of Metrolink’s ridership and use possibilities. The effort is a central part of Metrolink’s campaign in support of International Car Free Day and Bike to Work Day on September 22, which seek to encourage the community to try more environmentally-friendly mobility solutions instead of driving their cars.
