The story highlighted NTSB Chairman Robert Sumwalt who spoke about the importance of Positive Train Control (PTC), urging regulators to do their part to ensure other rail providers implement the life-saving technology in a timely manner to save lives.

    Metrolink Installs Life-Saving AEDs on All Trains

    Today, Metrolink announced that it has installed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) on all trains operating in the agency’s six-county service region and is providing hands-on and online resources to instruct employees, riders and the public in the use of the life-saving technology.

    Metrolink and ATU Reach Labor Agreement

    Today, the Metrolink Board of Directors approved a historic multi-year collective bargaining agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1277. The agreement is the first between the agency and represented employees and covers wages, benefits and working conditions for 36 ATU Metrolink dispatching supervisors, train dispatchers and communications coordinators that comprise 14 percent of the agency’s 262-person workforce.

    For the first time, Metrolink will add special Saturday night service with a $10 round-trip fare on the Antelope Valley, Orange County and San Bernardino lines for fans attending the Los Angeles Rams playoff game this Saturday, Jan. 12 at 5:15 p.m. The Rams will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
