LOS ANGELES – Today, Metrolink showed its train riders how much they are appreciated by sharing a little Valentine’s Day love on its 5th Annual Customer Appreciation Day.

Members of Metrolink’s Board of Directors, elected officials and staff greeted riders during the morning hours with candy, scented valentines and gratitude during pop-up events at select stations on each of its seven lines.

“Every decision at Metrolink we make with the customer in mind,” Metrolink Board Chair Larry McCallon said, who participated in the day’s events at Los Angeles Union Station. “I frequently take the San Bernardino Line train to and from Los Angeles. Each time, I ride not only with the perspective of a policymaker but also, and just as importantly, a passenger. We appreciate all our riders, and it was a tremendous experience hearing their feedback today.”

Adding joy to the day, station public address systems played classic love songs with a twist. Familiar melodies contained Metrolink-inspired lyrics that further emphasized the agency’s love for its customers.

“Our riders are the focus of everything we do, and they are the reason Metrolink exists," Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said. "As a Metrolink rider myself, I have the great pleasure of meeting and talking to our customers regularly. Valentine's Day is the perfect day to thank them for riding the train and show them just how much they mean to us."

Metrolink held its first Customer Appreciation Day on Valentine’s Day in 2019 and looks forward to continuing the annual tradition.
