Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1, Metrolink, in partnership with the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), will offer a $1 round-trip fare on the new Arrow service. The $1 tickets will be available on the Metrolink mobile app and on Metrolink ticket machines located at the five Arrow stations from Feb. 1 to March 5. The promotional fare applies only to round-trip tickets with origins and destinations between two of the five Arrow stations.

“There has been a great deal of excitement about the Arrow service since it launched last fall,” Metrolink Board Chair and City of Highland Mayor Larry McCallon said. “We want to build on that momentum and introduce as many people as possible to Arrow. Thanks to this grant, we now have a great opportunity to give more potential riders incentive to try out the service.”

McCallon is also a member of the SBCTA Board of Directors.

The discounted fare is subsidized by grant funding through the Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP) administered by Caltrans. As part of the discount fare subsidy, complimentary passes are also being offered to University of Redlands faculty, staff and students for January and February. The Redlands-University Station is the terminus of the Arrow service.

The Metrolink Arrow service launched in October 2022 with nine additional miles of track and four new stations between San Bernardino and Redlands, providing greater local and regional passenger rail connectivity. The Arrow service also introduced new Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) trains to Metrolink’s cleaner-operating fleet. For more information on the Arrow service, visit metrolinktrains.com/arrow.
