LOS ANGELES – With summer just around the corner, Metrolink is bringing back the popular weekday ticket option, the $15 Summer Day Pass, to complement the $10 Holiday Pass and the $10 Weekend Day Pass.

“Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and all the fun festivities associated with the great SoCal weather – backyard barbeques, swimming, fairs, fireworks and let’s not forget travel,” Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said. “Thanks to the positive customer response to the $15 Summer Day Pass last year, we are pleased to offer it again this summer. The $15 Summer Day Pass is an affordable ticket option for customers to enjoy weekday summer adventures to the beach, mountains, and entertainment venues across Southern California.”

$15 Summer Day Pass

The $15 Summer Day Pass will be offered on weekdays through the Metrolink Mobile App and now for the first time at Metrolink ticket machines beginning Tuesday, May 30 through Friday, Sept. 1, providing unlimited rides on the date of travel throughout the Metrolink system. The $15 Summer Day Pass is perfect for weekday trips to the beach, a hike to a new location, a visit to a local amusement destination, or a new restaurant.

Passes purchased for travel within Los Angeles County include free transfers to LA Metro’s subway, light rail, and bus systems. The $15 Summer Day Pass was introduced in 2022 as a pilot program and attracted 2,140 new riders between May 31 through Friday, Sept. 2, 2022. More information on the $15 Summer Day Pass can be found at metrolinktrains.com/summer-pass.

$10 Weekend Day Pass and $10 Holiday Pass

In addition to this summer weekday savings option, Metrolink also offers the $10 Weekend Day Pass and the $10 Holiday Pass. The $10 Weekend Day Pass is available on Saturdays and Sundays only and allows for unlimited rides system-wide on the date of purchase. The Weekend Day Pass is a bargain, especially when you add up to three kids 17 and under who ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.

The $10 Holiday Pass provides unlimited rides throughout the Metrolink system on six federal holiday weekends, including Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. The $10 Holiday Pass can be purchased on the Metrolink Mobile App or at Metrolink Ticket Machines found under "special ticket options."

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, Metrolink will operate its Saturday schedule with service on the Antelope Valley, Orange County, 91/Perris Valley, San Bernardino, Inland Empire-Orange County and Ventura County lines.  Metrolink’s Rail 2 Rail® program with Amtrak, which allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders to travel on Pacific Surfliner trains within station pairs at no additional charge, will be suspended from Friday, May 26 through Tuesday, May 30. The program will resume on Wednesday, May 31.

Summer Travel

Metrolink’s summer travel initiative kicked off this month by celebrating National Bike Month by providing free rides for those who brought their bicycles on board during Bike to Work Week, May 15-19. Metrolink also added special stops at the LA County Fair on Saturdays and Sundays beginning May 13 through Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, with free shuttle service to the Fair’s main entrance.
