First established in 1924 and moved to its present location at the Pomona Fairplex in 1935, the Garden Railroad has stood the test of time as a unique example of impressive craftsmanship, utilizing handmade replicas of real railroad operating equipment.

Examples of the equipment are on display in the present shop building, located in the rear center of the Garden Railroad. Today, there are more than 10,000 feet of operating track. The track features more than thirty different sections, each using various types of operating equipment. The railroad can be seen in action at any time – but is most notably visited during the annual Los Angeles County Fair.

The various trains and trolleys on the track showcase the region’s history, with several scenes depicting California life from the 1850s to the present day. Watch these locomotives as they meander through scenes of the mountains, over lakes and streams, and through the gardens.
