Today, the Metrolink Board of Directors approved a motion, authored by Los Angeles County Supervisor and Board Director Hilda L. Solis, to study special Metrolink train service for Los Angeles Dodgers games on the San Bernardino and Antelope Valley Metrolink lines. By offering train service to these games, baseball fans can depend on a safe, affordable and reliable ride to the game, while leaving their car at home, reducing emissions and traffic congestion.

The California State Transportation Agency today awarded $10.5 million to Metrolink for signal and track modernization that will improve safety, speed and reliability for Metrolink and Amtrak trains arriving and departing from Los Angeles Union Station.

In an effort to reduce roadway congestion resulting from heavier than normal traffic to downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, Metrolink will increase service by adding 12 additional trains throughout Southern California. Funding for the increased service is being provided by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
