Quiet Cars

All Metrolink trains have a car designated as the "Quiet Car" Monday through Friday. The cars are intended to be a peaceful, quiet atmosphere for those who want to rest or work without distractions.

Finding the Quiet Car

Look for the words "Quiet Car" on the changeable message sign on the side of the passenger car. Typically, the Quiet Car is the second passenger car located from the locomotive. Ask train personnel if assistance is needed locating the car.

Quiet Car Guidelines

To ensure that our Quiet Cars live up to their name, we encourage passengers to follow the guidelines below:

  • No Loud Talking. If you'd like to carry on a conversation, please relocate to another car.
  • Mute Your Device: Customers may not use any devices with audio features enabled or without headphones, including:
    • cellular phones

    • pagers

    • handheld games

    • laptop computers

    • portable CD or DVD players

Customers using headphones must keep the volume low enough so that the audio cannot be heard by neighboring passengers.

Metrolink personnel may ask passengers who fail to follow these guidelines to relocate to another car.

Quiet Car Seating

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. There is no additional charge to sit in a Quiet Car.

To provide space for all who want to ride in the Quiet Car, passengers may occupy only one seat. Please do not use additional seats for personal belongings.
