Programs & Projects: State of Good Repair

The State of Good Repair Program exists to take inventory of the entire system’s assets – such as train vehicles, systems, and facilities and determine repairs, upgrades, and replacements as needed to ensure safety. By prioritizing maintenance and modernization efforts, the program ensures that infrastructure remains in optimal condition, thereby promoting reliability and sustainability for the benefit of riders.

San Juan Creek Bridge

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), in coordination with Metrolink, is replacing the railroad bridge over San Juan Creek. The bridge has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced by a new three-span girder bridge.

Soto Street Bridge

The Soto Street Bridge Project involves widening the Soto Street bridge over Valley Boulevard in Los Angeles. The project includes adding widened sidewalks and bike lanes to the bridge.

Rail Modernization at L.A. Union Station

An important rehabilitation and modernization project at Los Angeles Union Station to replace railroad tracks, switches, platform construction and upgrading the signal system.
