Planned Advisory for the Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines
Orange County Line and Inland Empire-Orange County Line Track Closures Feb. 22 & 23, 2025
Due to maintenance and rehabilitation projects, Orange County Line and Inland Empire-Orange County Line service will be interrupted on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22-23, 2025.
On both days, Metrolink trains on the Orange County line will not operate between the San Juan Capistrano and Oceanside stations, and Inland Empire-Orange County line trains will not operate between the Laguna Niguel and Oceanside stations. No alternate transportation will be directly provided in lieu of Metrolink passenger rail service. Please review OCTA bus routes connecting San Juan Capistrano and Oceanside as alternatives.
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service will also be affected by the track closure. For details go to pacificsurfliner.com.
During track closures, Metrolink strives to offer the highest frequency of service, while also providing on-time performance. Due to the single tracking near San Juan Capistrano and right of way limitations, both Metrolink service lines and Pacific Surfliner service would be unable to serve San Juan Capistrano that Saturday and Sunday and maintain on-time performance
We apologize that necessary infrastructure enhancements sometimes result in track closures that we know may be inconvenient for our riders. This work is needed to ensure the safety and reliability of the system.
