LOS ANGELES – Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, Metrolink will make adjustments to its schedule to improve service and make the more than 44,000 weekday daily boardings more efficient and enjoyable. The changes will affect both weekday and weekend service.
The most significant changes will occur to weekday San Bernardino Line service where additional options will now be available during peak commuter times. Beginning at 1 p.m., trains will leave Los Angeles Union Station on the hour through 7 p.m., while beginning at 3:30 p.m., trains will also depart at the bottom of each hour through 9:30 p.m.
The San Bernardino Line will continue to offer "Express Trains", with trains 307 and 324 making limited stops. Two additional station stops, Cal State LA and Montclair, have been added to provide additional connectivity and options to riders, while minimally affecting the current end-to-end run times.
Similar to weekday afternoon trains from Los Angeles, San Bernardino Line trains will depart San Bernardino at the top and bottom of each hour beginning at 4 a.m., continuing through 8 a.m.
On weekends, San Bernardino Line trains 364 and 376 will arrive in San Bernardino 10 minutes earlier at 3:30 p.m. and 10:40 p.m., respectively.
On the Ventura County/Burbank-Bob Hope Airport lines, trains 911 and 910 will depart Union Station and the airport at 7:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively, in order to give riders an evening option that is currently unavailable. There have also been slight adjustments to trains 115, 117, 150, 155 and 909.
On the Riverside Line, trains 401, 405, and 408 all had departure times adjusted by five minutes or less, while Inland Empire-Orange County Line train 810 will arrive in San Bernardino five minutes earlier to alleviate rail traffic.
On the Orange County Line, Metrolink train 602 will arrive in Oceanside five minutes earlier, while Metrolink train 641 will depart Oceanside one minute later to resolve connection issues with the SPRINTER.
There are no changes to the 91 Line or the Antelope Valley Line.
