Metrolink IE-OC and 91 Lines have returned to regular service

Track damage between Corona and Anaheim has been repaired allowing normal service to resume

LOS ANGELES - Repair work by BNSF Railwayon track servicing the Inland Empire-Orange County and 91 lines has allowed Metrolink trains to resume normal speed.

Significant track damage occurred as a result of a BNSF freight train derailment on Tuesday, April 7. The derailment did not result in any injuries, while all the derailed freight cars remained upright. The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. on track adjacent to Esperanza Road at the border of the cities ofAnaheim and Yorba Linda near the Imperial Highway overpass. The cause of the non-injury derailment is still under investigation.

All regular service trains are expected to operate on time. There may still be occasional delays due to freight operations, but the intermittentdelays should be no more than 20 minutes.
