Metrolink Offers Affordable Transportation to Celebrate Lunar New Year Jan. 28 & 29

Metrolink's Weekend Pass gives attendees several options to take public transportation to the events all weekend for only $10

Los Angeles- Metrolink rings in the new year withsafe, affordable transportationto the 113thannual Golden Dragon Parade and Festival in downtown Los Angeles January 28 and 29.

The Golden Dragon Parade is a time-honored community tradition complete with floats, marching bands as well as government and community leaders. Join the thousands of spectators on Saturday, January 28th at the parade route in Chinatown to watch the famed Dragon Dance starting at 1 p.m. To get to the parade, take Metrolink to Union Station, transfer for free with a Metrolink ticket to the Metro Gold Line and exit at the Chinatown Station.Metrolink offers weekend service on the Antelope Valley, Orange County and San Bernardino lines.

In addition to the parade, Los Angeles Chinatown will host the Lunar New Year Festival the weekend of January. 28th and 29th. Enjoy cultural performances, gourmet food trucks and don't miss the 1,000 Chinese New Year themed cupcakes. For more information, please visitwww.chinatownla.com/

Event attendees can purchase a Metrolink Weekend Pass for only $10. This pass allows passengers to ride anytime, anywhere, system-wide from 7 p.m. on Friday through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. The Weekend Pass includes free rail and bus connections throughout Southern California. The $10 Weekend Pass is available for purchase at all Metrolink Ticket Vending Machines located at the train station platform starting at 7 p.m. on Fridays.

Additionally, the Orange County Transportation Authority is offering free rides to Los Angeles Union Station for the first 100 riders departing from the Metrolink Irvine Station.Click here for more information.
