Metrolink CEO Brief – October 4, 2019
Our Ridership Growth Continues
The first quarter of the 2019-2020 fiscal year (FY) is in the books and Metrolink showed 3.2 percent growth from last year. Based on preliminary ticket sales numbers for July, Aug. and Sept., we had 96,288 more boardings systemwide compared to the first quarter FY 2018-2019.
This first quarter momentum builds upon the record-setting ridership from last fiscal year.
On Time Performance is also up to 94.2 percent from 92.6 percent last year. With additional service to be added this month, continued ridership growth is expected. I appreciate the hard work of every Metrolink employee and contractor that is creating value and exceeding expectations!
Metrolink Rewards Riders for Thier Clean Air Day Pledge
To commemorate Clean Air Day, Metrolink gave 100 free round trips to the first 100 folks who pledged to leave their cars at home on Wednesday. Even those who didn’t score the free round trips were happy to use social media to encourage others to use Metrolink for their commute.
A snippet of some of the social media pledges and good wishes from our Facebook and Twitter followers on Clean Air Day.
We are one of 216 organizations and businesses to urge people to take the clean air pledge. Statewide, more than one million people promised to leave their cars at home.
For Metrolink and our riders, every day is Clean Air Day.
