Connect to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Getting to LAX Airport has never been easier. You can now take the train to L.A. Union Station and hop onboard the FlyAway® bus to LAX by using one Metrolink ticket.

If you’re traveling to LAX, you no longer have to purchase a separate ticket to ride the FlyAway® bus. Metrolink, in partnership with the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), will give you the option of adding the $9.75 cost of a one-way LAX FlyAway® trip to the cost of your Metrolink ticket.

All you have to do is go to any Metrolink Ticket Vending Machine and select LAX as your final destination when purchasing your ticket, take the train to L.A. Union Station and board the FlyAway®. The buses run seven days a week and every 30 minutes during peak hours.

The added ticket feature applies to the following Metrolink tickets: One-Way Tickets, Round-Trip Tickets and Advance Purchase Tickets. You can buy One-Way or Round-Trip Advance Purchase Tickets for a future date, up to one year in advance. LAX FlyAway tickets are not refundable.

To buy an Advance Purchase ticket, all you need to do is select the advance purchase option and choose the date you wish to travel and which ticket type you want. There is one difference between a ticket purchased for same-day travel and an Advance Purchase Ticket. The Advance Purchase Ticket will not have an expiration time printed on it but it is still valid and can be used at any time on the day you chose to travel. This ticket option will allow you to travel to LAX one day and make a return trip sometime in the future (up to one year in advance).

Metrolink Monthly Pass Holders Can Ride the FlyAway® for FREE!

Metrolink Monthly Pass holders with a flight boarding pass for that day, can hop aboard a Union Station FlyAway® bus to/from LAX at no additional cost. FlyAway® buses run every day of the year and every 30 minutes during peak hours. This adds another great benefit to being a Metrolink Monthly Pass holder and is the simple, cost effective way of getting to and from LAX. The free transfer only applies to Los Angeles Union Station to LAX FlyAway® (VanNuys excluded).

Union Station

  • FlyAway® buses are located at Patsaouras Plaza at Union Station at bus bay number 1

  • Visit the FlyAway® kiosk and present a valid Metrolink Monthly Pass and a boarding pass to or from LAX for that day (electronic or print version accepted)

LAX

  • Passengers leaving LAX may board buses on the Lower/Arrivals Level in front of each terminal at the blue FlyAway® columns.

  • Board the FlyAway® . Make sure you are boarding the FlyAway® that says Union Station.

  • After returning to Union Station

    • Visit the FlyAway® kiosk and present a valid Metrolink Monthly Pass and a boarding pass to or from LAX for that day (electronic or print version accepted)
