Antelope Valley Line Outreach

On April 16 and 24, Metrolink's community and government relations team held virtual byline meetings with stakeholders along the Antelope Valley Line. These outreach events follow the successful byline meetings held last year on the San Bernardino and Ventura County lines to examine issues that are important to station cities and adjacent communities. The objective was to engage directly with city staff and elected officials to gather insights into community concerns related to Metrolink services.

The initial meeting on April 16 included city managers, engineers and public works directors who posed questions about upcoming Metrolink projects. CEO Darren Kettle facilitated the meeting on April 24, providing elected officials a forum to interact and discuss methods for improving community relations. Additionally, Metrolink staff participated in pop-up events in cities along the AV Line to gain a deeper understanding of community questions, concerns, and ongoing or potential issues.

Also, Metrolink is conducting outreach in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to determine the effects of the increased rail service along the AV Line launched in October 2023. A virtual public meeting was held on April 18, 2024, while the community is invited to provide feedback here through a survey prior to the May 24 Public Hearing at the regular Metrolink Board of Directors Meeting.
