On Sunday, Feb. 4, we offered free rides on Metrolink and Arrow trains to commemorate Rosa Parks’ birthday and to highlight our commitment to equitable public transportation.
Rider turnout on Transit Equity Day jumped to 10,219 boardings systemwide, which was twice the average of the prior four Sundays. Considering the significant rainstorm that drenched Southern California that weekend, it was great to see riders brave the inclement weather and traverse our system.
I am continuously proud of the work we do to honor the legacy of Rosa Parks on her birthday and of our commitment to advancing fairness in mobility, which is something we strive to deliver daily.
