So far this year, Metrolink executives and department leaders have taken the stage at various industry conferences across the West Coast, sharing insights on topics ranging from enhancing the transit user experience to achieving a net-zero emissions future. These engagements reinforce Metrolink’s commitment to advancing transportation at the local, regional and national levels.
Metrolink Chief Technology Officer Kevin Gray recently participated in the California Transportation Foundation (CTF) Transportation Forum in Sacramento. As a panelist for the session, “Enhancing the Transit User Experience with Technology,” Kevin highlighted how innovative technologies can help mitigate transportation challenges and improve customer experiences. He emphasized the importance of agility in transit solutions—encouraging providers to experiment with new methods and pivot quickly when necessary to meet evolving customer needs.
Joining Kevin on the panel were Seleta Reynolds (Chief Innovation Officer, LA Metro), Gillian Gillett (Program Manager, California Integrated Travel Project, Caltrans) and Scott Wilkinson (CEO, AlphaVu). Deborah DaGang (Chief Planning Officer, Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority) served as moderator. Kevin is also speaking today at the Association of Information Technology Professionals-Los Angeles Chapter’s event, “CTO Insights: Dine + Connect: Stay on Your Toes and Keep Your Head on a Swivel.”
Chief of Program Delivery Justin Fornelli participated in a discussion on capital project updates and contracting opportunities at the Inland Empire Transportation Construction Network event in Pomona on Jan. 22. Justin expounded on the future operational benefits of Metrolink’s Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion (SCORE) Program and how ongoing projects are laying the foundation to help Metrolink serve new riders. He also emphasized the importance of Metrolink’s State of Good Repair operations and their impact on rider retention by maintaining safe and reliable service.
Justin spoke alongside Erik Galloway (Project Delivery Director, Riverside County Transportation Commission), David Thomas (Toll Project Delivery Director, RCTC), Cameron Brown (Program Manager, Transportation & Planning, Western Riverside Council of Governments) and moderator Gabriel Rodriguez (Vice President and Southern California Transportation Sector Leader, EXP).
Director of Sustainability Lisa Colicchio represented Metrolink at the 25th annual GreenBiz Conference Feb. 10-12 in Phoenix. GreenBiz is a premier gathering for sustainable business leaders navigating shifting social, political and economic landscapes. Lisa took part in the “Moving Towards Net Zero Logistics” panel, which addressed the transportation sector’s transition to net-zero emissions. As transportation is the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S., she emphasized the urgency of sustainable innovation within the industry.
