SCAG Arrow Tour

Tour participants on an Arrow train.

On Friday, March 1, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) convened more than 20 participants for a tour of the Esri headquarters, which included a ride on an Arrow train to showcase the integration of technology and transit in the region.

Our very own Chief of Program Delivery Justin Fornelli and Government Management Analyst Julie Nieto joined SCAG Regional Council members; executive leadership; and staff from SCAG, Omnitrans and SBCTA in Redlands. At the Redlands-Downtown Station, Justin highlighted the agency's vision for transforming from a commuter service to a regional rail system. He also emphasized Metrolink's role in providing accessibility to jobs, affordable housing and education across 545.6 route miles.

SBCTA Executive Director Ray Wolfe elaborated on the Arrow service expansion and its impact on the region while also outlining plans for Arrow to lead the way in sustainable rail with the Zero-Emissions Multiple Unit (ZEMU). Additionally, SBCTA Deputy Executive Director Carrie Schindler provided insights into the planning for Arrow, highlighting collaborative efforts with the stations serving Esri and the University of Redlands.

Thank you to SCAG for inviting us to participate in the tour and allowing us to showcase the Arrow service.
