- Verify your account via the confirmation email (check your spam folder) and you'll receive your Student Adventure Pass directly to your mobile app's ticket wallet.
Grab your phone and valid student ID and you're good to go! Take the train to school, work, or adventures. With the Student Adventure Pass your ride is on us.

The Student Adventure Pass is a pilot program that enables current students in Southern California to ride Metrolink for free. K-12, technical school, colleges, and university students are eligible.
Students MUST show a valid student ID upon inspection. Faculty and staff are not eligible for the program.
The Student Adventure Pass will be available until June 30, 2025, when the pilot program will end.
Students of any age are eligible with a valid Student ID, plus a valid mobile or paper Student Adventure Pass ticket at all times.

The Student Adventure Pass is a pilot program funded through a combination of grants and support from Metrolink’s Member Agencies. Due to the program’s overwhelming success, the available grant funding for the Student Adventure Pass pilot - which initially helped cover 100% of student fares – can no longer fully sustain the program.
The last day to use the mobile Student Adventure Pass or print a valid paper ticket through the program will be Monday, June 30, 2025.
Yes. After the Student Adventure Pass pilot ends on June 30, 2025, Metrolink will introduce a new 50% discount for students — doubling the previous 25% discount offered before the pilot began.
The new discount will be available through the Metrolink app and at ticket machines. It can be applied to the Metrolink Day Pass, as well as all multi-day passes, including the Monthly Pass.
Starting July 1, 2025, all students—regardless of age—and youth ages 18 and under will be eligible for a 50% discount on Metrolink fares.
To receive the discount, riders must select the Student/Youth rider type when purchasing a ticket in the Metrolink mobile app or at a ticket machine. Students are required to carry a valid student ID and must present it to a fare inspector upon request.
Starting July 1, 2025, students will be eligible for a new 50% discount on all Metrolink fares.
Students with a California EBT card can save even more by combining the student discount with Metrolink’s Mobility-4-All program. When purchasing a ticket at any Metrolink ticket machine, eligible riders can apply both discounts to receive an additional 50% off their pass.

The Student Adventure Pass program will conclude on June 30, 2025. To help prevent tickets from being accidentally printed with a date beyond that deadline — which would automatically void the ticket — the option to print future-dated Student Adventure Pass tickets has been disabled.
