The Canyon Theatre Guild in Santa Clarita Valley’s Old Town Newhall has been a community hub and a beloved local community theater for more than 50 years.
This destination showcases a wide range of live entertainment, including plays, musicals and comedy acts. Traditionally the venue can host up to nine productions annually and welcomes more than 40,000 people each season.
It's in a fantastic location for exploring the historical sites of Old Town Newhall on the corner of Main and 6th Street, nestled between various local shops and restaurants, and just off the Newhall Western Walk of Stars, which runs along Main Street. The destination is also just steps from the Newhall Metrolink station and a block from the historic William S. Hart Park.
In addition to putting on regularly scheduled shows, the organization hosts a collection of workshops for both kids and adults to develop theater performance skills in a safe and welcoming environment.
“This theatre produces at least nine full-scale productions each season,” says Metrolink’s Senior Manager of Government Relations, Alex Davis. “It's been voted the ‘Best Live Theatre’ in the Santa Clarita Valley every year of the Reader’s Poll since its inception and is a great place to see local theatre productions.”
