Laemmle Newhall Theater

Laemmle, which is pronounced "LEM-lee," describes itself as a venue that’s “synonymous with great independent, foreign, and art house cinema.” The Newhall location is a newer theater location, but the Laemmle as a brand has been in operation for more than 75 years, hosting theaters that serve more than one million filmgoers each year across Greater Los Angeles.
Laemmle aims to match films with the destination where the theater is located. In addition to movie showings, Laemmle hosts experiences such as one-night screenings, special events, premieres and Academy qualifications.
Newhall’s location of Laemmle is the city’s only arthouse cinema. This space offers cinephiles a cozy and intimate setting to watch a movie downtown, selling reasonably priced concessions. There’s even a beer and wine selection.
“Laemmle Newhall is a great local theatre to see the latest movies, near the walkable downtown area with lots of local shops nearby,” says Metrolink’s Senior Manager of Government Relations, Alex Davis.
