This old boathouse sitting in Lincoln Park dates back to 1912. When it was set to be demolished in 1969, a passionate group of locals worked with the city officials to establish “Plaza de la Raza” (Place of the People) as a non-profit to serve Latinx communities in its place.

Today, the center provides programs in arts education and serves as a safe space for cultural enrichment for folks in L.A.'s Eastside neighborhoods.
