Poppy + Rose
Poppy + Rose serves California-inspired American brunch fare in a restaurant located in the heart of the Flower District in Downtown Los Angeles. It’s a crowd favorite spot to grab breakfast, brunch and lunch for DTLA locals and visitors alike.
The restaurant was founded in 2014 by husband-wife duo Chef Michael Reed and Kwini Reed and serves seasonal, elevated country kitchen-styled comfort food in a relaxed, floral-themed ambiance (fitting to its Flower District surroundings!).
Each of the dishes on the restaurant's menu is made from scratch with original recipes, using quality ingredients. Must-try menu items include the Buttermilk Chicken + Waffles or the Fried Chicken Sandwich.
But this outpost isn’t only known for its cuisine – be sure to opt-in for some equally coveted, expertly crafted cocktails. From the classics like mimosas to the quirky “Fried Chicken Mary,” which is Chef Michael's take on a Bloody Mary, made with house Bloody Mary mix and wine-based vodka, topped with its pièce de résistance — a giant piece of fried chicken.
In addition to its delicious food, Poppy + Rose is also known for frequently giving back to the community by supporting hospitals, children's organizations, social justice causes and more, through financial assistance and meal donations. The restaurant plans to someday expand its initiatives to include a “supper menu" and collaborations with other local Black-owned businesses.
