The GRAMMY Museum
The GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live is an interactive and educational landmark in downtown Los Angeles devoted to showcasing the history of music and the winners of the Grammy Awards.
Four floors with rotating exhibits offer guests the opportunity to explore a series of interactive touch screens, videos, recording booths and a collection of historical music artifacts such as costumes and instruments used at the Grammy Awards. There's also a collection of historical records and audio and video recordings to encounter.
In addition to the exhibit spaces, The Grammy Museum hosts the 200-seat Clive Davis Theater, which frequently hosts events including live performances, seminars, classes and educational discussions.
Outside of the museum surrounding the building, there are a series of bronze disks embedded into the sidewalk shaped like records to commemorate the recipients of the various annual GRAMMY Awards categories. Walk along the pathway to learn about the recipients of Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
The museum opens on Sunday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The Museum is closed on Tuesdays.
On Saturday, September 17 to celebrate "Free Museum Day," this museum and other participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket.
