Whittier Narrows Park | Explore

This 1,492-acre family and dog-friendly park in the City of South El Monte is one of Los Angeles County's largest and most popular recreation areas. Here, visitors can utilize bikes and watercraft rentals for various outdoor activities. There are also numerous softball and soccer fields with picnic tables, a paved airstrip for radio-controlled hobby aircraft, a tether car racetrack and multiple paths for walking and cycling.

Within the Recreation Area, visitors can explore the Whittier Narrows Nature Center, which contains exhibits about the plants and animals' local environment, including live displays. There are also lectures, ranger tours and education programs for visitors to enjoy.

Walk to Railroad St. and turn right

Turn left onto Monterey Ave

Arrive at La Fruta Feliz on west side of Monterey Ave.

The biggest perk of working at Metrolink was meeting her husband of seven years. They have one cherished baby, a calico cat named Twix. Kari has kept busy during the pandemic by taking up quilting, sewing masks for family and friends, crocheting and taking care of her mother.
