Ritter's Steam Kettle Cooking
Ritter's makes Cajun Creole Style food, mixing in some regional flare by using the method of Steam Kettle Cooking, which is a particularly distinct way to prepare tasty, well-cooked food. By using the steam kettle method, the food is heated evenly and quickly without overcooking due to the even temperature and surface area of the individual kettles.
Dining at Ritter's is a special experience because the cooks make the entrées right in front of restaurant guests using these jacketed steam kettles, in an interactive dining experience. Each dish can be customized by choosing a spice level from one to ten (and even hotter if someone desires!).
The restaurant's claim to fame and the most popular pick would be the Pan Roast, which is a tomato cream-based dish with special spices, green peppers, onions and celery, served with several choices of seafood, chicken and even andouille sausage — all topped off with jasmine rice.
Other must-try dishes include the Po' Boy Sandwiches, which are prepared on a French roll with mayonnaise, Creole mustard, lettuce, tomato and coleslaw and served with Cajun fries or a side salad. There’s also Ritter's Famous Gumbo which comes with okra, Cajun trinity and andouille pork sausage, cooked in a full flavor dark roux sauce served with rice. And be sure not to miss the beignets for dessert!
