Final Weekend of Metrolink’s Special Weekend Train Service to Los Angeles County Fair

LA County Fair Mascot Thummer with Tier 4 Train

LOS ANGELES – This Saturday, May 27, through Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, is the final weekend fairgoers can take advantage of Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line trains making a special stop at the LA County Fair.

Metrolink’s special weekend trains are a convenient and fun option, allowing fairgoers to avoid traffic and the challenge of parking. A free shuttle will meet every stopping train and take riders on a short shuttle ride from the train platform to the main Fair entrance.

All San Bernardino Line Saturday and Sunday trains will make the special stop after 11 a.m., when the Fair opens. In addition to Metrolink’s regularly scheduled trains stopping at the Fairplex, Metrolink will also offer a special late-night train departing the Fairgrounds at 10:10 p.m. toward Los Angeles. That same train schedule will also be available on Memorial Day.

Metrolink riders can purchase a Weekend Day Pass for just $10, and with the Kids Ride Free on Weekends promotion, each fare-paying adult can bring up to three children ages 17 and under for free – no tickets required.

On Memorial Day, Metrolink offers a $10 Holiday Pass good for unlimited rides throughout the system that day. The Kids Ride Free on Weekends promotion is not available with the $10 Holiday Pass.

The LA County Fair service to the Pomona Fairplex is one of three key initiatives that kick off Metrolink’s Summer Travel initiative, which runs from May through August. The other two key summer travel initiatives are National Bike Month in May and the return of the $15 Summer Day Pass. As we approach summer, Metrolink wants to remind riders about the ease and convenience of traveling by train, ideas for enjoyable getaway destinations, and fun surprises for riders.
