Los Angeles County Fair petting zoo takes over Metrolink and Union Station

LOS ANGELES– Promoting its special weekend service to the Los Angeles County Fair,Metrolinktoday transported a menagerie of baby animals and 50 sixth grade students to the Fair in Pomona after treating commuters at Union Station to an early morning petting zoo courtesy of the fair.

Metrolinkused the occasion to remind fairgoers that they can save money on travel and admission to the LA County Fair by takingMetrolink’sspecial weekend trains, which offer a comfortable, convenient and stress-free ride and no parking hassles.

Saturday and SundayMetrolinktickets are only $10 for unlimited rides, andMetrolinkriders can also save $8 off adult and $6 off child ticket prices when purchasing fair tickets online atlacountyfair.comand using the promo codeMetrolink.

Metrolinkis scheduling an additional evening train and adding stops at the Fairplex Station, located between the Covina Station and Pomona-North Station, on the San Bernardino Line every Saturday and Sunday starting Sept. 2 through Sept. 24 and Labor Day. All trains except 351, 352 and 353 will stop at the Fairplex Station. A free shuttle will pick upMetrolinkriders at the Fairplex Station and take them to the Yellow Gate entrance into the fair.The additional special weekend train departs the Fairplex at 8:30 p.m. returning to L.A. Union Station.

This year,Metrolinkwill also stop at the Fairplex Station on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4. Please note,Metrolinkwill operate a Sunday schedule and regular Monday fares will apply with no Sunday or Weekend Day Pass discount.

Since 1993,Metrolinkhas been making special weekend stops on the San Bernardino Line at the Fairplex Station. The new additionalMetrolinkservice is made possible by funding from Los Angeles County Metro.
