Metrolink CEO Brief – August 2, 2019
Policy Changes in Response to Rider Concerns
Recently, several riders shared their concerns with me about waiting to board Antelope Valley Line train 219 when temperatures exceeded 90 degrees. This resulted in a systemwide policy change for riders.
As part of our customer-first approach to service, we have updated our operating instructions for train crews. In normal conditions, crews are required to open doors to the trains 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. During adverse weather conditions, such as rain or extreme heat over 90 degrees, the doors are to be opened as soon as possible so riders can wait comfortably on the train.
Riders are invited to share their experiences online, through social media or contact our call center. As part of my commitment to ensure customer-focused operations, all customer issues are taken seriously.
