Oh what fun it is to ride!

Tis the season to treat your family to a unique journey on the Metrolink Holiday Express Train! For the first three Sundays in December, board our festively decorated trains for an immersive and magical experience. For just $20, your holiday ride includes carolers, a visit from Santa Claus and his elves, and meet and greets with your favorite animated feature stars. (Hint: One of our special guests is the most beloved M-O-U-S-E of all time! We'll also be hosting the queen of ice and snow with her spunky little sister!)  Plus, there will be children's activities, giveaways and more! Trains will leave on time and will board 20 minutes before departure. Please arrive early!

HOLIDAY TOY & SOCK DRIVE

In the spirit of the holidays, we invite you to join us in support of two important causes:

  • We will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys and sporting goods at the Metrolink Holiday Express Train in partnership with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD). Donations will be handed out to local children in need.

  • Socks are among the most requested items in homeless shelters nationwide. Join us to help the local homeless population by donating new pairs of socks at the Metrolink Holiday Express Train. Attendees can also bring socks for the homeless which will be donated to the following charities:
    • Los Angeles Mission
    • Orange County Rescue Mission
    • San Bernardino County Homeless Partnership
    • Ventura County Rescue Mission

FAQ

The Metrolink Holiday Express Train is an on-train experience for the whole family. There will be six festively decorated train passenger cars with carolers, a visit from Santa and his elves, and other holiday characters. It’s going to be a unique holiday experience with children’s activities and treats.

Arrive early as parking can get crowded. Trains will leave on-schedule!

Important: Arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of your train ride to check in and receive your colored wristband.

The Metrolink Holiday Express Train experience will last 75-90 minutes. Riders will take a scenic non-stop ride as follows:

  • Sunday, December 1: Metrolink Holiday Express Train will depart Laguna Niguel Station at 11:50 am, ride along the coastline and return at 1:20 pm, a 90-minute ride.

  • Sunday, December 8: Metrolink Holiday Express Train will depart Simi Valley Station at 11:50 am, ride through the Ventura County hillsides and return at 1:05 pm, a 75-minute ride.

  • Sunday, December 8: Metrolink Holiday Express Train will depart Burbank - Downtown Station at 3:00 pm, ride through Los Angeles County and return at 4:15 pm, a 75-minute ride.

  • Sunday, December 15: Metrolink Holiday Express Train will depart Rancho Cucamonga station at 11:50 am, ride along the San Gabriel Mountains and return at 1:05 pm, a 75-minute ride.

Yes, when you purchase your tickets online in advance, seating will be reserved.

The Holiday Express Trains are expected to sell out. Purchase your tickets as soon as possible.

Yes. Children two years of age and under may ride for free provided they are not occupying a seat and ride on an adult’s lap.

Refunds will NOT be issued for this event. When purchasing tickets, please purchase the correct date, time and train car you wish to ride on. This event sells out quickly and Metrolink cannot exchange or refund tickets.

Trains will continue to run in various weather conditions. However, trains may be canceled or postponed at the railroad’s discretion due to major weather or railroad disruptions. Full refunds will be offered in these scenarios.

Yes, Metrolink trains have restrooms available in each passenger car.

Service animals trained to assist persons with disabilities are permitted. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted on this special train.

Yes, small snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted on the trains.

We will have very limited space to store strollers – available on a first-come first-serve basis. However, we recommend you leave your stroller in the car, or leave it at the secure holding area at the departure station.

There are no parking fees at the departing stations for this special event.

Yes, Metrolink trains are ADA accessible.
