The new Wilshire/La Brea Metro Station features signage displaying the route to LA Union Station, where riders can transfer to most Metrolink train lines.
Southern California’s transit network continues to grow stronger and more connected with the upcoming opening of LA Metro’s D Line extension next Friday, May 8. We celebrate this significant milestone, which introduces three new stations along Wilshire Boulevard, extending rail service into the heart of Mid-Wilshire and creating new access to some of the region’s most vibrant cultural, business and educational destinations.
For Metrolink riders, the highly anticipated opening of this trio of stops is expanding what’s possible with regional rail. With seamless connections available through Metrolink’s operational hub, LA Union Station, customers can transfer for free to the LA Metro system and continue west to destinations along the Wilshire corridor. That includes easy access to landmarks like the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the La Brea Tar Pits and The Grove.
The D Line extension also underscores the importance of continued collaboration among Southern California’s transit providers. As agencies align around modern infrastructure and shared mobility goals, projects like this help move the region closer to a more unified, intuitive transit experience.
Thanks to our partnership with LA Metro, our riders will enjoy a new era of exploration, featuring world-class attractions and neighborhood treasures just waiting to be discovered.
