On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the air was abuzz with excitement as Team Metrolink, members of our esteemed board of directors and local dignitaries came together to honor and celebrate our incredible riders during our annual Customer Appreciation Day outreach. It was a day filled with love, gratitude and an outpouring of appreciation for the heartbeat of our service – our riders.
Each year more and more Southern Californians are embracing their public transit era, and we could not be prouder. We wanted to go the extra mile to show just how much we value each and every one of our riders by delivering a truly memorable and love-filled customer experience.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the early risers who joined us in surprising and delighting our morning passengers with smiles, swag and sweet treats at multiple stations including Fullerton, Newhall, Riverside-Downtown, San Bernardino-Downtown, Simi Valley and LA Union Station. Greeters included Metrolink Board Directors Brian Berkson, Tam Nguyen, Tony Trembley, and Pam O’Connor. Your dedication and enthusiasm made the day truly special for our riders.
This year, our event was aligned with the "Eras: Metrolink & Metrolink Riders" themed campaign. To add an extra layer of fun and nostalgia, we produced an amusing video in which I had the pleasure of sharing one of my favorite periods from my transit era – and yes, you can even catch a glimpse of my passport photo from 30+ years ago!
As a part of the celebration, we also unveiled a brand-new line of eras-inspired public transit t-shirts at our Metrolink Online Store. These unique and stylish t-shirts are a perfect way for our riders to showcase their love for public transit while adding a touch of flair to their wardrobe.
Our Customer Appreciation Day event was a true testament to the strong bond we share with our riders, and we are already looking forward to creating more cherished memories in the future. Thank you again to everyone who made this day a resounding success and a joyous celebration of our amazing riders.
