To qualify, present a valid photo ID with yoru date of birth or proof of eligibility when requested.

PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANTS

A Personal Care Attendant (PCA) may accompany a rider with a disability for free; they must board and exit with the passenger.

SERVICE ANIMALS

Trained service animals may ride on Metrolink free of charge.

Please note that the below does not apply on Codeshare or Rail 2 Rail Amtrak trains.

Weekdays and Holidays
Ages 5 and under

  • On weekdays and holidays, children age 5 and under ride free with an adult with a valid fare (limit three per adult) 
  • Each additional child (after three) requires valid Student/youth fare.
  • Transfers to local transit are not included for free-riding passengers

Saturdays and Sundays
Ages 17 and under

  • On Saturdays and Sundays, up to three children age 17 and under ride free with a fare-paying adult using a valid ticket/pass.
  • Each additional child (after three) requires valid Student/youth fare.
  • Transfers to local transit are not included for free-riding passengers

WHO QUALIFIES?

  • Veterans and active military personnel

HOW TO GET YOUR DISCOUNT

  • Active military individuals must present a valid Common Access Card (CAC) upon request.
  • Veterans must present valid proof of eligibility

  • DD-214 (separation from military document)
  • NGB-22 (National guard equivalent of DD-214)

Law Enforcement Officers

WHO QUALIFIES

  • Uniformed law enforcement officers
  • Peace officers with status under California Penal Code 832

SAVINGS

  • Uniformed law enforcement officers may ride free of charge.

HOW TO GET YOUR DISCOUNT

  • Present a valid photo ID issued by their law enforcement agency
  • Wear a Class A uniform, including badge, nameplate, service weapon, gun belt and holster

NOT ACCEPTED

  • Class B uniforms (e.g., polo shirts, raid jackets, jumpsuits) are not accepted.

RESPONSIBILITES OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ON METROLINK

  • Respond to incidents or accidents
  • Take action if criminal activity is observed
  • Give up their seat to paying passengers on crowded trains
