How to Get Your Discount

To qualify, present a valid photo ID with your date of birth or proof of eligibility when requested. Accepted IDs include:

LA County Access Services ID Card - LA County Access Services ID Card holders ride at no cost within Los Angeles County only.

 

Personal Care Attendants (PCA)

A Personal Care Attendant (PCA) may accompany a rider with a disability for free—they must board and exit with the passenger.

Children Ride Free

  • Ages 5 & Under: Up to three children ride free with an adult using a valid ticket.
  • Each additional child (after three): Pays the youth fare.

Student & Youth Discounts

Through June 30, 2025, students ride free with the Student Adventure Pass!

Available to:

  • Riders 18 & younger
  • Students of any age with a valid student ID (must present when requested).

Active Military Discount

  • 10% Off One-Way & Round-Trip tickets

Law Enforcement Officers Ride Free

Uniformed law enforcement officers may ride free of charge if they meet the following:

  • Peace officer status under California Penal Code 832
  • Present a valid photo ID issued by their law enforcement agency
  • Wear a Class A uniform, including:
    • Badge
    • Nameplate
    • Service weapon
    • Gun belt & holster

Not Accepted: Class B uniforms (e.g., polo shirts, raid jackets, jumpsuits).

Responsibilities of Law Enforcement Officers on Metrolink

  • Respond to incidents or accidents
  • Take action if criminal activity is observed
  • Give up their seat to paying passengers on crowded trains
