Wurstkuche
Located in the heart of the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles, Wurstkuche is a mecca of authentic sausages and beer served in a friendly, spirited atmosphere. Sausages are served on a freshly baked roll with a choice of two toppings and a selection of gourmet mustards.
Fan favorite brat selections include more traditional options such as the classic “brockwurst,” which is a mouth-watering combination of veal, pork and spices – as well as the “hot Italian,” which combines fine cuts of GMO-free pork & spices. There are a plethora of vegetarian options such as the "vegetarian smoked apple sausage," made with apples, Yukon potatoes and rubbed sage – as well as the veggiewurst – which is a tasty plant-based Beyond Meat brat.
Those who are feeling more adventurous can try the daring selections such as the "mango jalapeno," which combines the sweet and savory tastes of chicken and turkey – or the "sun-dried tomato and mozzarella," which combines flavors of smoked chicken and turkey. There’s also the "Hungarian heat," which is a perfect sprinkling of paprika, white pepper, and brown sugar with a kick.
The daredevil sausage enthusiasts can try one of the menu’s “exotics” which include the "buffalo with luxardo cherries and mint," which is bright and pleasantly sweet – or the "rattlesnake and rabbit with jalapeno peppers" which is buttery and mildly spicy. Finally, there’s the "rabbit and pork with leeks and carrots," which is light and clean. And don’t skip out on Wurstkuche's tasty selection of sides. The "groot of Belgian Fries" is a large portion of fries, served with a choice of two dipping sauces. There's blue cheese, Walnut and Bacon, Buttermilk Ranch, chipotle aioli and tzatziki – just to name a few.
No brat meal is complete without the perfect pairing of an authentic stein – and the choices at Wurstkuche are seemingly endless. There are both Belgian and German selections, from the "Duchesse de Bourgogne" – which is a tangy flanders red ale, to the black, to the sweet and malty "Kostritzer schwarzbier." Those who aren’t beer fanatics can indulge in a European wine, such as the burg ravensburg pinot noir baden, or the gruner veltliner weingut frank from Herrnbaumgarten, Austria.
