LA Live
L.A. Live is a massive entertainment complex in the South Park neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles. The complex's first phase opened in late 2007, featuring Microsoft Theatre, the Xbox Plaza and a shopping plaza. The complex encompasses 5.6 million square feet of space, including ballrooms, bars, concert theatres, restaurants, residential areas and hospitality spaces.
The opening of LA Live is credited with bringing life back to the Downtown LA area, driving tourism and local spending to support the city.
It is said that LA Live’s success inspired similar entertainment complexes across the country adjacent to sports venues, like TEXAS LIVE in Arlington and Patriot Place outside of Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.
Today, visitors from around the world visit LA Live to see concerts, attend sports games, learn about music history at the GRAMMY Museum and check out seasonal events like the annual LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE.
