The Broad
*Please note The Broad is free, but reservations are required.
This iconic downtown Los Angeles contemporary art museum offers free general admission and hosts an active program of rotating exhibitions. The museum is adjacent to the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The museum is named after philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, who financed the $140 million building in which the art collection is housed.
There are nearly 2,000 pieces of contemporary art by 200 artists in this three-story museum, including works by Andy Warhol and Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room – The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away, among other famed works.
Even the outside of the museum is a work of art. It features a unique architectural design with a signature, porous, "honeycomblike" exterior and a plan based on a concept entitled "the veil and the vault.”
