Verdugo Park in Glendale is an enormous park that encompasses 40 acres of open space for outdoor recreation activities. It’s dog-friendly, as long as dogs are friendly and kept under control. The park offers a ballfield, basketball court, children’s play area, horseshoe court, picnic areas and plenty of green grass to play and relax.

There’s even a skate park on-site for testing and practicing new skate tricks.

Visitors at Verdugo Park can explore the serene grounds and encounter a collection of animal and plant life -- including a large grove of sycamore trees, mature oaks and towering redwoods. It’s a peaceful destination to stroll around and experience the nature that’s still present even in the chaotic urban city setting of LA.

Verdugo park is a popular place for picnicking and playground meetups in the warmer months, and is a great space year-round (when it’s safe) to gather for events, outdoor concerts and to host a barbecue with friends or family.
