Runyon Canyon Park is one of Greater Los Angeles's most well-known hiking destinations. It’s a popular park β€” better for people watching than getting in touch with nature. The park's proximity to residential areas of Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills sometimes even leads to celebrity sightings!

This 130-acre dog-friendly park offers hikers a few options for different challenge levels of loop-style treks and fantastic views. Runyon's more moderate and level paths make it a kid-friendly destination. Many of the available paths are wide, some of which are even paved!

One notable spot is Indian Rock, the highest point in Runyon Park, which sits at an elevation of 1,320 feet. The Rock Mandala, which is a piece of public artwork created from a mandala of rocks β€” some weighing up to 300lbs β€” is located in a quiet valley off of the main trails in the park.
