El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument
El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument is located directly across the street from L.A. Union Station, and is a major gathering spot, event venue and cultural hub of downtown Los Angeles.
The monument is an iconic downtown attraction, suitable for children of any age, including toddlers. The Monument is a tribute to the site of the early settlers of Native American, African and European heritage who journeyed more than 1,000 miles across the desert from present-day northern Mexico and established a farming community in Los Angeles in 1781.
Today, El Pueblo serves as a living museum that continues to symbolize the heart and cultural heritage of the City of Angels. Within the monument sits the historic Our Lady Queen of Angels Church, the Olvera Street Mexican Marketplace, the Avila Adobe and the Plaza Firehouse.
