Newport Beach is the largest recreational harbor on the West Coast, featuring over 10 miles of coastline. Newport Beach offers extraordinary opportunities for visitors of any age to fish, swim, surf, boat, or just relax on the sand. Local beaches include The Wedge which is known for its massive waves and world-famous surfers, and Corona del Mar State Beach, which is a popular destination for swimmers.

Newport Beach is home to a variety of neighborhoods, each with their own unique style and activities.

On Balboa Island, be sure to grab one (or both) of Balboa Island’s two famous desserts, the Balboa Bar and Frozen Banana. This man-made island can be reached via car, on foot, on a bike – even via the Balboa Island Ferry which is bike and car friendly. Across the bay, Balboa Village is a home base for sportfishing, seafood, and the Balboa Fun Zone. This old school amusement park is right next to the ferry and features old-school park rides and a retro-style arcade. Explore the adjacent bay waters, by renting a powerboat, electric boat, sailboats, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, Jet Ski or Newport Beach’s crowning water vehicle: the Duffy Boat.

Visitors can shop till they drop at Fashion Island, an open-air mall that’s home to department stores such as Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, as well as to luxury boutiques such as Marine Layer and Gorjana. Across town, Lido Marina Village embodies quintessential relaxed and luxurious California vibes, with al fresco shopping, outdoor dining and plenty of sightseeing.
