In honor of Women's History Month, take any Metrolink line (except the Inland Empire Orange County Line) to Los Angeles Union Station and visit the Los Angeles Central Library to learn about the powerful and pioneering women of early Hollywood with author and historian Karie Bible.

This program will take place on March 26 at 12:15 p.m. as one of the events to honor women's significant contributions to various fields during Women's History Month.

The "Pioneering Women of Early Hollywood" event will focus on:

  • Highlighting the influential roles women played in the early days of cinema.
  • Possible programming such as discussions or presentations highlighting the achievements of women in the film industry during its formative years.

Bible has been the official tour guide at Hollywood Forever Cemetery since 2002. She has co-written the books Location Filming in Los Angeles and Hollywood Celebrates the Holidays in addition to appearing on Turner Classic Movies, CNN, PBS and the series Lost L.A.

In addition to this event, LAPL has organized other activities throughout March to celebrate Women's History Month, including storytimes, film screenings, and educational workshops.
